Hi everyone! I am Tony Cheung, a Senior Data Scientist at Roku, with experience applying data science, machine learning and product analytics across global companies in Hong Kong and the UK.
I graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a BSc in Economics in 2016 and began my career at Cathay Pacific, working across Cargo and Passenger Revenue. In 2020, I moved to the UK to pursue an MSc in Data Science at the University of Bath, including a placement at Universal Music Group.
Since then, I have worked at Dyson, where I led a data science team focused on personalization and user experience, and Domino’s, where I applied machine learning to customer engagement, marketing and business growth.
Today, at Roku, I lead end-to-end product analytics for its Live TV experience, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to improve viewer discovery, engagement and retention through experimentation, analytics and data-driven decisions.
I created this website to bridge the gap between data science theory and real-world application. Rather than simply showing how to use Python libraries, I break down algorithms from intuition and mathematics to practical implementation, while sharing insights on AI, product analytics and career development.

Throughout my career, I interviewed with companies across industries, progressing from an intern to senior roles while navigating hundreds of interviews from both the candidate’s and hiring manager’s perspective in Hong Kong and United Kingdom.
In addition, I got experience hosting interview and career workshops at universities, where I share practical advice on interview preparation, career development, and breaking into the data science industry.
My goal is to make interview preparation practical, honest, and based on real experiences rather than textbook answers.
